Forms
Czech legal document templates
Templates never replace legal review. They are a fine starting point for low-value or routine matters, where the risk of a bad clause is much smaller than the cost of drafting from scratch.
Where to look
- Czech Ministry of Justice publishes model forms for court filings, insolvency and cadastre entries.
- Czech Bar Association publishes model advocate engagement letters.
- najitadvokata.cz Czech vzory section has annotated templates for common contracts.
Templates most expats need
- Power of attorney (plna moc) for handling official matters when abroad.
- Notice of termination of a rental contract (vypoved z najmu).
- Employment resignation letter (vypoved dohodou or ze strany zamestnance).
- Sworn statement (cestne prohlaseni), often required by tax and immigration offices.
- Simple loan agreement between individuals.
Signatures and notarisation
For property transfers, notarisation of signatures is mandatory. For most other contracts, a certified signature (uredni overeni) at CzechPOINT is cheap (30 to 50 CZK) and enough. Fully notarial deeds are required for company formation, prenuptial contracts, and voluntary disinheritance.
